This cute shrug is a great first sweater for any crocheter. It has a fairly simple design that can be modified for any size, from baby to adult. it can be a simple shrug, or easily modified to make a sweater as seen in the photos.

This design is perfect for fall and early spring weather, and here in Georgia, probably even most of winter. This sweater is such an easy build, and relatively quick to create, means it can also be a great gift.

Prerequisites: Must have crochet 101 or equivalent skills. Need to be comfortable with single crochet and double crochet.

Skill level: This is a 201 level workshop.

Cost: $150 includes 2 session / 2 hours each (total 4 hours)

Instructor: Shannan

  • Worsted weight yarn
  • US size I9 hook
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

NOTE: Yarn amounts will vary based on the size you want to make: a baby will need 2 skeins of yarn with scraps in a contrasting color if replicating the photo; or about 1000 yards. An extra large adult shrug as pictured will need about 3000 yards. (I used 4 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver Ombre and 1 skein of Big Twist Value.)
