Holiday Sewing For The Kitchen

Who doesn’t love to get some fun holiday sewing done? In this class we’ll make bowl cozies, microwave safe batting and fully washable, these are perfect for all those cold weather soups! They make great gifts as well. Our second project will be a double ended oven mitt, using Pellon’s Insul-Bright batting for heat protection. These are adorable made in any holiday fabric but are great year round in whatever fabrics compliment your kitchen. Also a great hostess gift that’s sure to impress!

Prerequisite: Sewing 101 or equivalent skills

Skills you’ll learn: Learn about and sewing with different kinds of batting, making darts, sewing curves and using bias binding.

• 10″ squares for bowl cozies (no metallic fabrics)
• 1/2″ yard each  of  two fabrics for oven mitts (both fabrics will show, bring holiday fabrics or whatever you like!)
• sewing machine and basic sewing supplies.
• All batting will be provided by the instructor.
