Grow your apparel sewing skills with the Wiksten shift dress. We will cover basic clothing sewing, following a pattern, and finishing techniques.

In this class we will take what you have learned in Sewing 101/102 and apply those skills to clothing. We will be loosely following a pattern in order to familiarize you on sewing with patterns.

The class starts by reviewing your measurements and adjusting the pattern to suit your body. Most of the class will be spent sewing your dress together. We will be learning finishing techniques necessary for sewing clothing. Your clothing goes through a lot of wear and tear as well as washing. We will teach you how to create a garment that looks like it came right from the store and last countless wears.

“I had a wonderful time taking the Wiksten Dress class. I’m a self taught sewist and I signed up in order to get some professional advice. Sarah was an excellent teacher and she taught me so much about fitting and how to get a cleaner finish on my garments in just a couple sessions. That class was also lots of fun and had a relaxed feel. I will be going back to Fabricate for more lessons!” ~Maggie (Google)
