Our cancellation policy for classes requires 7 days notice for a full refund. Private Lessons require 24 hours notice. Our full cancellation policy is outlined on our Class Policies page.
We know that schedules are crazy busy these day (ours are too), so it’s our policy to begin and end on time. Instructors arrive approximately 15 minutes before class begins to set-up and prepare for the lesson. They also stay 15 minutes after class ends for cleaning up. This 15 minute window is your drop off and pick-up time. If you’re late picking up, it means our instructor is late for their next appointment so please be prompt on pick-up.
“If you’re taking an adult class we realllly want you to bring your own sewing machine to class, unless otherwise noted in the description. What good is learning a new skill if you can’t practice it at home?!”
If your child is enrolled in one of our kids classes or sewing camps then we provide the sewing machines; because we totally understand that sometimes hobbies don’t last a lifetime. However, if you already own a machine at home we would love for you to bring it to class. Learning the secrets of the machine you own is important to mastering the skills we teach in class.
Need a recommendation on which sewing machine to buy? Just shoot us an email, [email protected], for a suggestion.
Listed on each class page is a list of supplies. You will also recieve a welcome email from your instructor and a reminder of the supplies you will need before class starts.
If you are looking for a place to buy fabrics, check out Stash Fabrics (online only) or JoAnn Fabrics (in Decatur). JoAnn will have all the notions you need like bias tape, zippers, and maxi piping.
We do not have traditional store hours. The studio is only open to registered students during scheduled classes and events. If you’d like to see the space or meet some of our instructors, please join us for our (free) monthly Craft Night.
Atlanta Sewing Machine located at 1323 Metropolitan Pkwy SW, Atlanta, GA 30310 offers machine servicing. If you are open to learning to service your own machine, Sewing Doc Acamedy is a great option.
