COVID-19 Safety Precautions and Related Policies

**Effective April 1, 2022 masks will be optional in the studio for adults and children.**

We are currently hosting in-person learning with some additional precautions and restrictions.  We are routinely cleaning the space before camps/classes, in between the morning and afternoon sessions, and after camp/class ends. We also installed a UV sanitation system on our HVAC system and have a UV sanitation unit that we use to disinfect the entire space when the studio is empty.  Finally, we have a commercial cleaning crew that comes in to double down on our efforts.

Gift Exchange Policy

Skills are an invaluable gift to give and to receive. It’s also tricky to give a class when you don’t know someone’s schedule! Fear not, if register a loved one for one of our classes or workshops we will gladly exchange the cost of their registration for another class offering if they are unable to attend. As a courtesy to others that may be on our waitlist, we require 7 days notice prior to class beginning should the receiver be unable to attend.

Supplies

We list the required supplies on each individual class page. If you’d like more information or have questions regarding the necessary supplies prior to the start of a class, please email us at [email protected].

Class Cancellation and Attendance Policy – Adults

Our class can accommodate a limited number of students; as a result, we often have a waiting list of students that would love the opportunity to participate. Fabricate requires a seven-day notice to receive a full refund. However, if you cancel with less than seven days’ notice, we will issue a full refund should we fill your spot with someone from our waitlist. Fabricate does require a minimum number of students for a class to move forward. If a class is canceled, you will receive a full refund or a credit towards a future class. Classes paid using Affirm are eligible for store credit only.

Class instruction begins at the time posted on each class page. Instructors arrive approximately 15 minutes before class to prepare and set-up. Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time to prepare for class, set-up your materials, hang your coat, purse, etc.  Preparing to learn when class begins will ensure that we cover all of the material you’ve paid to learn. Should you have an emergency, please email us at [email protected] so that we can notify your instructor of your absence. We do not offer refunds or credit if you miss classes and handle make-ups on a case by case basis. If you know in advance that you will need to miss a class, please let us know so we can discuss the best way to handle the missed material.

Class Cancellation and Attendance Policy – Children, School Semester

Because we include supplies in our kids class fees, instructors prepare for the lesson in advance. Our advanced prep allows us to maximize class time and ensure the kids are completing as many projects as possible during the semester. Because of this, Fabricate requires a seven-day notice to stop automatic billing on any kids semester sewing class cancellation. Please email us at [email protected] and cancellation or refund requests will be processed within 48 hours. Classes paid using Affirm are eligible for store credit only.

We know that schedules are crazy busy this day (ours are too), so it’s our policy to begin and end each class on time. Instructors arrive approximately 15 minutes before class begins to set-up and prepare for the lesson. They also stay 15 minutes after class to tidy up the classroom. This 15-minute window is your drop off and pick-up time. If you’re late picking up, it means our instructor is late for their next appointment so please pick-up promptly as a courtesy to others.

We also realize that with any commitment lasting several months, a few missed classes are inevitable. You are welcome to attend a different session that’s offered within the same week (Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday) in order to stay “on track” with the projects being made in class. We also track attendance and offer an appropriate number of scheduled make-up sessions throughout the semester to help students stay on track with the projects being taught in class. And we are willing to make other reasonable accommodations, as scheduling permits — so let’s communicate if things are getting off track! If there are absences from class through the semester that exceed the number of make-up sessions offered, we will not offer refunds.

Summer Camp Cancellations and Attendance Policy

Our summer camps are extremely popular and often sell out.  We also include all supplies in our kids class fees.  Therefore, instructors begin preparing for summer camp months in advance. Prepping all materials in advance allows us to maximize camp time and ensure that kids are completing as many projects as possible. Because of this, we require two weeks notice to receive a full refund for summer camp.  All requests to cancel a camp reservation with less than two weeks before class begins will be issued store credit.  If at any point you need to cancel your camp reservation, and someone is able to move up from the waitlist, you will receive a full refund, regardless of the number how much notice we receive.

Please email us at [email protected] with cancellation or refund requests.  All applicable refunds will be processed within 48 hours. Classes paid using Affirm are eligible for store credit only.

Private Lesson Attendance/Cancellation

We schedule private lessons based on the availability of our classroom space and the instructor. Fabricate requires payment for all privates lessons at least 48 hours in advance.  We require 24 hours notice to receive a refund. Lessons scheduled with less than 24 hours notice are subject to payment in full.  If you have additional questions about private lessons, please email us at [email protected] or call 404-981-4665. Classes paid using Affirm are eligible for store credit only.
