3D Embroidery Class: Learn Stumpwork & Raised Embroidery Techniques
Take your embroidery skills to the next level with our 3D Embroidery Workshop – Hand Embroidery 201: Beginning Stumpwork, where you’ll discover the art of stumpwork (raised embroidery). This hands-on class explores traditional and modern dimensional embroidery techniques, materials, and tools to create stunning needlework that literally pops off the fabric.
Rooted in medieval embroidery traditions, stumpwork allows you to add texture, depth, and sculptural elements to your designs. We’ll examine historical examples and show you how to bring them to life with contemporary methods.
This intermediate-level embroidery class is perfect for those who are confident using a size 10 embroidery needle and comfortable working with fine embroidery threads.
All materials are included (kit will be provided on your first night of class). Please bring your favorite stitching tools, along with any extra lighting or magnifying aids you like to use.
