Stumpwork is an embroidery term that describes a technique of raised embroidery. In this class we will stitch individual petals to assemble a floral bouquet! The stumpwork techniques covered will range from padding to couching to creating slips.
We will practice shading techniques to create bright floral petals inside of wired elements. Learn how to pad to create subtle dimension. And make those French knots pop by creating a stuffed slip.
This class is for those that are confident stitching with one or two strands of cotton or silk floss. This class will practice shading and needle painting techniques but these techniques will not be taught. The focus of this class is to teach stumpwork techniques. Please bring magnification and lighting tools if needed.
