Knitting 201: Baby Sweater

In this class we’ll discuss how to knit a very basic sweater. We’ll work together through Cast On, dividing for sleeves, and then picking those sleeves up to finish out the sweater. If anything other than cast on sounded strange to you, then this is the class for you. We’ll go step by step and discuss it fully as we go.

We’ll also learn increases and decreases.

Prerequisites: Knitting 101. Must know how to cast on and do the knit and purl stitch comfortably. Bonus points if you have taken Knit 102 and understand increases.

• Approximately 220 yards of dk or worsted weight yarn
• Needle sizes: US 6 – 4.0 mm
• US 8 – 5.0 mm circulars in 16″ and 24″
• At least 5 stitch markers (4 in 1 color, 1 in a second color/style) NOTE: it’s best if you have 9 stitch markers (2 sets of 4, and 1 in a third color)
