Learn beginner upcycling skills with this upcycled fanny pack class. We will instruct you how to take apart a recycled garment such as denim jeans or a workwear jacket and turn it into a fanny pack. You will be sewing a fanny pack with two zipper pockets, full lining, complete with a webbing strap and buckle closure.
Day one: We will focus on visible mending, repairing, patching holes, and embellishing with embroidery. In the second half of class we will focus on hems, minor alterations and adjustments.
Day Two: We will take your found garments and completely rework them to become a stylish upcycled fanny pack you will want to wear everywhere you go. Most students are able to finish the project in the class. If you need to finish it at home, you will have detailed instructions on how to do so.
