Sewing 201: Sewing with Denim

Take your sewing skills to the next level. In this three part class we will learn how to sew with denim while creating a pair of jeans or denim shorts. We will start by reviewing our patterns against body measurements and making any necessary adjustments to suit your body. We will both complete your jeans or shorts and learn the necessary skills/techniques for sewing heavyweight fabrics.

Instructor: Sarah

Class time: 3 sessions / 2 hours each (total of 6 hours of instruction)

Prerequisite: Sewing 101 and 102

Prework: None

• Shorts – May PM: class meets Fridays, May 5th, 12th and 19th from 6:00-8:00pm (add to calendar)

• 3 yards of denim fabric
• Denim hardware kit (We recommend the Jeans Hardware Kit from Kylie and The Machine)
• 1/2 yard of woven pocket lining fabric
