This year we are tackling new skills with a variety of piecing and applique techniques. Each month for 12 months you will make a new set of blocks for your quilt and learn new techniques. Some of the techniques we will explore include: half square triangles, strip piecing, cathedral windows, dresdens, and sewing curves. This quilt finishes at 69×69″. This class is appropriate for both new and experienced quilters. We are offering both in-person and virtual sessions; click the Upcoming Dates tab (above) to see all class options.
Cost: $300 course fee includes instruction and custom pattern. An incredible value ($25 per class) for all of the techniques we’ll cover, custom quilt pattern, video tutorials, and more.
Prerequisite: This class assumes that you’ve completed our Quilting 101 course or have similar skills

Why are the virtual sessions shorter than the in-person sessions? Great question. When a class meets in-person, you have to cart your machine in, set it up, and break it back down at the end of class. We account for this in the class time. Students receive a demo from the instructor and then spend the remaining time cutting fabric and sewing their block.
When the class meets virtually, you’re already at home and set-up. There is a live demo (we also provide instruction in the form of a video so you can rewatch it a million times, if needed) and the remaining class time is used for questions, sewing, socialization, and sharing work that you’ve sewn on the quilt thus far. Most students complete a block in the virtual session if they’ve cut it ahead of time.
